Overview
Agent Run Coach ("we," "us," or "our") is an AI-powered coaching platform for athletes. We take the privacy of your health and fitness data seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. What Data We Collect
Account Information
- Name, email address, and password
- Profile information (age, gender, sport, experience level)
Health and Fitness Data
- Workout data imported from Garmin Connect (heart rate, pace, power, GPS/location, sleep, HRV, recovery metrics)
- Body metrics, if provided (e.g., weight) — optional and only collected where relevant to your training
- Manually entered training data (perceived effort, notes, mood, injury flags)
- Historical training load and performance trends
Course and Route Data
GPS and location data is sensitive and we treat it as such. We collect:
- GPS tracks and route data from your workouts
- Elevation profiles and terrain metrics
- Course data you manually enter or import (e.g., a race route)
This data is used solely to provide training analysis and recommendations tailored to your terrain and event goals. We do not display your routes publicly, share your location history with third parties, or use it to infer where you live or work.
Training Interaction Data
- Actions and tool calls made by the AI assistant on your behalf (e.g., syncing workouts, retrieving performance data, triggering plan updates)
- Training plans, recommendations, and adjustments generated during your sessions
- Your feedback and notes on those recommendations
Note: We do not store transcripts of your conversations with the AI assistant. The conversation itself occurs between you and the AI provider. We capture only the actions taken and outputs generated.
Technical Data
- Device type, operating system, browser type
- IP address and approximate location
- App usage patterns (pages viewed, features used)
2. How We Use Your Data
To Provide the Service
- Displaying your training history and performance trends
- Providing your data as context to the AI assistant so it can take relevant actions on your behalf (e.g., syncing workouts, generating training recommendations)
- Generating AI-powered training recommendations and plan adjustments based on your performance and recovery data
To Improve the Platform
- Understanding how features are used (in aggregate, not individually identifiable)
- Identifying bugs and improving reliability based on anonymized usage patterns
To Communicate With You
- Sending training reminders and plan updates
- Account and security notifications
- Product updates (you can opt out of marketing communications at any time)
3. When and Why We Process Your Data
When We Process
We process your data only in the following circumstances:
- When you initiate a sync: Garmin data is pulled when you trigger a sync or when a scheduled sync you have authorized runs
- When the AI assistant takes an action: Your data is accessed and passed as context only when the AI assistant is actively working on your behalf (e.g., generating a recommendation, adjusting a training plan)
- When you use the platform: Usage and technical data is collected when you actively use the app
- We do not process your data continuously in the background without your knowledge or a sync you have authorized
Why We Process (Legal Basis)
- Contract performance: We process your data to deliver the service you signed up for — syncing your workouts, generating training recommendations, and maintaining your training history
- Consent: For any optional processing beyond what is described here, we will ask for your explicit opt-in. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting your core service
- Legal obligation: We may process data where required by law, such as responding to a valid legal request or meeting breach notification requirements
4. Garmin Data
We access your Garmin Connect data only with your explicit authorization through Garmin's OAuth process. Specifically:
- You must actively grant Agent Run Coach permission to access your Garmin data
- We only access the data types you authorize
- You can revoke our access at any time through your Garmin Connect account settings
- We comply with the Garmin Connect Developer Program Agreement, including Garmin's data handling and privacy requirements
- We include a link to Garmin's Privacy Policy in our onboarding flow
5. Our Commitments — What We Will Never Do
We want to be explicit about this, not just silent on it. These are firm commitments:
- We will never sell your health or fitness data to any third party, ever
- We will never share your data with advertisers or data brokers
- We will never use your health data for advertising targeting — not ours, not anyone else's
- We will never share your data with unnamed or undisclosed "partners" — if we ever share data, we will name who, why, and give you the choice
- We will never use your data to train AI models — we do not build or train our own AI models
- We will never share your data with other users, coaches, or third parties without your explicit permission
- We will never make material changes to these commitments without notifying you first and giving you the option to delete your account and data before they take effect
6. Data Sharing
Data sharing is a normal and necessary part of how this platform works. Here is exactly who receives your data and why:
- With the AI assistant: Your workout data and performance metrics are passed as context to the AI assistant each time it takes an action on your behalf. This happens regularly as part of the core service — syncing workouts, generating recommendations, adjusting plans. We do not store the conversation itself.
- With AI providers: When you use Agent Run Coach through an AI assistant (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude), your data is also subject to that provider's privacy policy and your agreement with them. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of whichever AI provider you use. We do not control how those providers handle data on their end.
- With service providers: We use third-party providers for hosting, analytics, and infrastructure. These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for their own purposes.
- When required by law: We may disclose data if required by a valid legal process.
- With your consent: We will ask before sharing your data in any way not described here.
7. Data Retention
- Your data is retained for as long as your account is active
- You may delete your account at any time, which will delete your personal data within 30 days
- Anonymized, aggregated data (not linked to you) may be retained for platform improvement purposes
- AI session actions and outputs (training recommendations, plan adjustments) are retained as part of your training history. Conversation transcripts are not stored on our end.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data (right to be forgotten)
- Export your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent for Garmin data access at any time

9. Security
- All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections
- Health and fitness data is encrypted at rest
- We use industry-standard security practices and conduct regular security reviews
- In the event of a data breach affecting your health data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities within 60 days, as required by the FTC's Health Breach Notification Rule
10. Children's Privacy
Agent Run Coach is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11. International Users
If you are located outside the United States, please note that your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. For users in the European Union, we comply with GDPR requirements. You may request data deletion or export by contacting us — see the Contact section below.
12. Changes to This Policy
We will notify you by email and in-app notice at least 30 days before making material changes to this privacy policy. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
